What Is Kratom?

About Mitragynine
Plants contain many different alkaloids. They can vary from batch to batch and depend on the geographical location and maturity of the plant.
Even though kratom contains over 30 alkaloids, the most abundant and studied is Mitragynine. It’s what gives kratom its wide range of unique effects. Our kratom’s alkaloid profiles are uncovered through rigorous lab testing. Once we receive the results, we hand select each batch to determine the strain.
Signature Reserve is always guaranteed to have the highest mitragynine content—at least 1.5%. Then the next highest are the Maeng Da strains (1.3%+), then the Bali, Thai, and Borneo strain (1.0%+).

About Vein Colors
Kratom strains are categorized by different “vein” colors based on each powder’s hue, which is almost always green. As the names imply, “green vein” is light green, “red vein” is a darker green, and “white vein” is in the middle.
A common misconception is that certain trees produce certain vein colors, however that is not true. Color variation comes from the drying process after the leaves are harvested. The more time leaves are exposed to sunlight, the darker their powder gets.
Different colors produce different effects. Generally speaking, greens are for energy, reds are for relaxation, and whites are viewed as hybrids for both energy and focus. Kratom’s effects are different for everybody though – so explore and see what works best for you!
